Geneva offers several Online Degree Programs designed to offer a flexible experience for working adults looking to complete their bachelor's degree. One of these online opportunities is the Human Resources Program.

Students learn strong leadership practices and essential qualities of creating a thriving workplace through Geneva’s Human Resources program. The skills and principles learned through this online degree program prepare students to take the lead in enacting positive change and restorative practices in the professional world.

A total of 120 credits are needed for students to complete this program, consisting of 36 major credits, 18 core credits, and 66 elective credits. For students transferring from another institution, up to 84 eligible credits may be applied to the elective or core credit requirements.

This program is conducted fully online, making it accessible for students who need more flexibility than what is offered through in-person programs.

Derek Seipp, a graduate of the Human Resources online program, was unsure a nontraditional college experience was the right fit for him, but soon learned otherwise. “When I was working through the course material with a full-time job, it was directly applicable to the work that I was doing, which made the information all the more interesting to me. It gave me a deeper level of learning that really let me connect with my job.”

Students can pair this degree with a minor in any of our other online degree programs: Child & Family Services, Management, or Psychology. By adding one of these minors, students enhance their marketability to prospective or current employers.

Each program course is taught by an expert within the field who provides practical insight into the course material. Major courses include Business and Interpersonal Communication, Policies and Personnel Management, Employee and Labor Relations, and Current Issues in Human Resources.

Don’t let finances stand between you and the next step in your education. At Geneva, approximately 90% of online degree program students receive some form of financial aid. Connect with an admissions counselor to learn what may be available to you.

Geneva’s Bachelor of Professional Studies in Human Resources emphasizes HR fundamentals, group dynamics, styles of communication, supervision issues, ethics and decision-making, and organizational behavior.
